2/23/2018 0 Comments Identity pieceSo far I decided that my piece will be made out of clay and hands out of plaster. My concept is unity and how that could truly give this country freedom. I plan to color the plaster with paint of the SKU and clouds for the hands. The rest will have darker colors buy the closer you get to the hands it gets lighter.

I love how these women wear a mask in public society, even though others may judge with a negative connotation. It gives me an independent feel that is motivating. I have always loved the concept of a mask in society, which I think represents it doesn't matter what we look like or who we are on the outside. There are too many stereotypes of women and weakness. When you look at their mask you can't tell whether it is a man or women, so people can't put any stereotype on it. I think I could influence the concept in my piece by the mask idea or the power or women. By making the piece look angry but have the true inside of women be wrong and peaceful 2) Ai Weiwei He is a Chinese conceptual artist, that says creativity is extremely powerful and he needs to demonstrate the pain of Chinese culture past but put a modern twist on it. He uses surveillance camera and takes videos of himself doing everything he does in life, every minute, and hope to see him doing his art in the end, but it is like multitasking art. I like how he uses the thing in the past to influence the pain in his work but he is rejecting it through his work. I'm not really interested in doing this one artist because it seems like the art he does is not the way I like or dislike to do pieces. It does not affect me because I know nothing about the Chinese culture but maybe that is a good thing I could bring to my piece. 3) Jean Michel Basquiat He is a focused artist that sometimes does graffiti in alleyways that are inspired by the pain that racism can be in our society overall. He layers his paint and usually uses really bright colors for the background and uses calm colors for the concept part of the piece. He focuses on poverty, segregation, racism and inner and outer experiences he has been through. I would love to take how wrong racism is into consideration for my piece. My parents have grown up with backgrounds with racism my parents now hate that people do dumb things like this but influened me from when I was a kid until now. Maybe I could bring in the pain of racism and how everyone should love each other no matter what we look like cause 2/16/2018 0 Comments Final project![]() The medium I used within his piece was acrylic blue paint only. I used the technique of thick brush strokes on the outside of the brain and on the inside I used clean cut tiny strokes. The lock represents a dream that anyone has had for a long time and the brain is where you dream that dream. The world on the outside put limitations on your dream and how you can live and pursue it. I choose the color blue to represent a calm feeling in the painting even though there are many things going on in the piece. In order to unlock the lock on need something else to sustain yo while trying to pursue that dream you always had, which is a job with money in real life. I loved working on this piece because it can demonstrate society limits and your mind which has no limits and we always need to find one in between. 2/9/2018 0 Comments February 09th, 2018![]() Edgar Degas was a very interesting artist, that was classical and modern in one of his many pieces. He lived in France and was one of 1st founders of impressionism. Many of his pieces contain the artistic abilities of others and a all the movement they make when in the process of doing it. He sometimes did female nudes and was judged for it. His mother knew opera singers and his father would sometimes hold dance recitals within their household. Edgar Degas was born on the 19th of July, 1834. He lived in Paris, France the majority of his childhood and adulthood. his mother and father influenced him to create art and be inspired by natural beauty Degas was apart in a seminal group of Paris artist and shared exhibits together in the 1870's. He was always intrigued by challenges and capturing the human eye. Degas was one of the 1st founders of impressionism, but the name "impressionism" did not appeal his ears, he liked to be called a realist. Most of his pieces have singers, laundresses and dancers with odd color or capturing color. He loved to capture the exotic shapes of dancers, and the powerful voices of singers too. Degas's media that he most commonly used was sculpture, paints, prints and drawings. He usually used nudes colors or softer colors within his pieces, because he studied classical art. Since he was basically born into the art by his parents, he was inspired by his childhood and all the recitals that would preform in his home. He had many artist that inspired his work, the number one artist was Diego Velazquez, who was a Spanish artist in the 17th century . Diego was a court painter for King Phillip IV and took the lead of the Baroque period. Diego was known as the master of light and detail, which I think influence Degas through all his art pieces ,by bring out light and detail of that art. Diego also influenced many other artist too. The 1st piece in the left upper corner, is known as "the fourteen year old dancer". This piece was made in the 1830's based a girl he saw dancing. The medium being used is wax and gold paint over it. The piece almost makes me fell sad because she looks dirty, but the texture looks rich and expensive, I'm a little stuck in between the two. I think he picked this concept because of all the stress of a dancer, from personal experience it is fun ,but a lot of work. He used the colors of gold to capture the naturalist/realist feel. He also used the cloth for skirt to demonstrate that too. The 2nd piece on the bottom, is "Foyer de la Danse ", which was made in 1872. There are dancers during rehearsals, in their studio. He used oil paint for his medium in this painting. He usually paints from the point of view that is random and natural, this is also a little bit of Cubism. The colors are very vintage and soft colors. It makes me fell peaceful and calm/chill because nothing grand is happening. As a dancer it honestly makes me want to dance because the pointing of foot and the dance moves make me happy. It is also inspiring to stay calm as a dancer. The brush strokes are thin around the girls costumes and their faces, but the light seems like really thick brush strokes. Overall this artist is very inspiring we it comes to being a dancer. He portrays the dancers as calm, cool and collected, but sometimes they can get very stressed out and tried from dancing all day. You can become very sore physically and mental wore out from creativity. Degas took his childhood and used it throughout most his pieces .All the pieces he has done are always calm and soft colors, but the people are in action. I also think his parents encouraged him and even if the critics judged fro his art he continued to do the art he considered beautiful. Edgar Degas is one of the many artist that showed many different emotions though the same subject( dancers). Maybe I need to blend the background together a little more and I might re do the Letter of “ do your dream” so it looks cleaner and fresh rather than messy. I plan to draw and key 🔑 far in the background describing, that in order to accomplish your dream you may have to go through tough times and happy times but you will do your dream someday, just the world has so many limitations!
2/2/2018 0 Comments February 02nd, 2018So far on my project or limitation I have a concept based on society describing that the only way to pursue your dream is to keep going and find the key to the dream lock. I have lock on the brain to demonstrate that society gives us limatations on what to become or dream even though it is our original thought. I want to have the world on the outside and the galaxy with the key in there somewhere. My limitation is using only one color which is blue and black and white.
2/2/2018 0 Comments Using one color challengeSo for this challenge we had to use only one color with black and white so I decided to draw an eye because blue colored eyes are truly pretty and I could spider them pure and innocent and it reminds me of my childhood. I hope to do this on my final project cause I really enjoyed using one color.
2/2/2018 0 Comments February 02nd, 2018We used charcoal to black out the entire page of our sketch book then we used a eraser to draw in the black. I decided to draw a moon and and a mountain in the background. There is an eye in the top of the moon just to keep the eye because it is in most of my pieces.
2/2/2018 0 Comments outside cretivityMadison and i were challenged to go outside and make something with nature as an art piece. So we decided to make nature out of nature by making a flower. I found a drawing stick and drew and flower in the ground and found some leaves to outing ground to make the petals seem 3D. Madison found the balls and we decided to put them as the center of the flower. And i found a brash that looks like wheat to place in the t center to make the flower look a little more odd/ unique. and i think we could have been a little more creative but it was freezing cold so i wanted to go inside. I did like taking nature and creating something out of it because it is clean and cool.
2/2/2018 0 Comments tin foil challengeWe were given a piece of tin foil to make a sculpture and i decided to create an flower because it seemed simple but interesting to make the petals and everything. when i was making the the sculpture, I cupped my have to make the circle part of the flower then made little indent for the petals. After making the flower I put a hole in the center of it so when i made the stem it could fit right in the flower. After making the stem i made the butterfly which has a tongue going into the flower for food. I very much enjoyed this challenge because it seem hard but easy to figure out how to use on thing and make a cool piece.
