5/20/2019 0 Comments Final reflectionMy favorite medium I used this semester was water color tempera, because it was the main medium that I used the entire time. Water color tempera was so fun to play with in different textures especially with the word I used. I learn through the medium that I can blow, layer and texturize the paint by which gave the overall piece texture and depth. I struggled with writing through sharpie. Sharpie was very hard to write on wood with because of the texture present in the wood. The handwriting was not that nice and it was hard to see. I think to get better at this medium is practice nicer and clearer handwriting with sharpie to make it look ten times better. I really enjoyed learning about Kelly Puissegur because she has such unique art that made viewer very curious and intrigued. She was inspirational because the was she simply layered two different animals and weird things that mad her laugh. What I love about this is the fact, that she used images that relied on her emotion of laughter to create a piece. When you look at he pieces they make you laugh. Lisa Golightly I found the least inspiring because she describes her pieces as out of the bow by which she challenges herself even though she does not want to do it. Any artist can do that, and if any artist did not challenge themselves art would be really boring. On of my favorite project is worked this year was the sin Gluttony not because blue is my favorite color. The sin of Gluttony is something every one suffers from. This sin is the reason why obesity is so common in America, the food being produced in the stores are so chemically processed which makes them hurting our body. Basically America's food industry is trying to kill us. The project I did of Gluttony was the most fun. The background was so fun to create because the texture looks like fat cells, but it really grabs your eye. The FAT pig was really fun to cut out because it was basically circle and a squiggly tale to make it cute. Wow! I can believe my project is over. I had so much fun doing these individual projects. I really loved the idea of the seven deadly sins by which are a really cool deep subject. I loved correlating animals and colors to a certain sin that made sense to me. The order starts with pride because according the Bible it is the most evil sin ever existing, because pride is the beginning of sin. Every sin has to do with self control, and for me I pray and ask God to give me self control is situations. But of course I am not the perfect person in the world but I can strive to make myself a better person. Every struggles with these even everyday or just throughout their lives. Thanks to Mrs. Whitney with her artistic brain I abbreviated Jesus Christ in “JC.” The second sin is envy because the snake that tempted Eve was the begging of sin. Third I would say lust because it is so strong and so tempting to fall into. Fourth is greed, because the entire world is filled with greed and hatred which is just sad. Fifth is sloth because sloth can mess a persons brain up by making people think carelessly causing danger for others. Sixth is Wrath because it is so violent and aggressive that is can cause destruction I ones life. Seventh is gluttony because American is mostly populated to obese people that have zero self control over food. Overall I’m very happy with this result I can wait to place it outside under a tree area under a mural. It’s going to grab people’s attention for sure. So far I have attached at least half of my final piece together. I attached them with painter mixers by which I used wood glue. Can’t wait to put it in Apex. The art show went okay considering there were not many people attending the event. I had a few people including Mr. Thomas come and I got to explain to them the overall meaning of the piece. It was fun for a bit.

Carlie Fuller My doll house gallery represents me looking at my childhood. I have painted the the entire room lavender and a sun center in the middle because I used to have a lavender room where the sun peak in every morning. I made this room a gigantic garden that is a gallery with mini canvas on the wall but there will be gigantic sunflowers too. I choose this because the theme of sunshine is beautiful and reminds me of my childhood. I feel like this theme will be a great way to end my last art class. I made the flowers out of clay and the sun is made out of clay painted yellow like the sun from tangled as a mural. I have always been like rapunzel since the beginning. Each mini canvas represents me as a child. The blue canvas with the flower represents my favorite color and flower. The Aladdin piece is a tradition I used to do every day after high school. I used to watch Aladdin every single day after preschool. Lastly the tony canvas is me, I wear blue a lot and have long blonde hair. The overall piece is me looking back on my childhood in the that tiny canvas 5/10/2019 0 Comments May 10th, 2019I choose as my challenge a small scale piece with only pencil but complex at the same time. I drew a sunflower because they are beautifully detailed. I did it based off of earth day just for fun and I put patterns in there that remind me of growing. I put the word grow to project the overall subject of the piece. I put a lot of detail when drawing the petals and the center of the flower. I like sewing small but my hand hurt afterwards. I chose to use only pencil because I want people to give it their own color , defining the growth they need.

When being boastful it will shorten the days of your life because no one on earth should be boastful or prideful towards anyone or about anything. Everyone is equal in confidence levels and in everything, no one should think they are above anyone else. In this piece I used a lion and the color purple to represent pride. The choice of the using the lion for the animal was obvious that’s what they are known for. But instead of him being bigger he is a smaller lion by which means even the small ones have pride. The color purple represents pride to me because I’m the Bible purple represents totality by which many royalties are prideful and self centered. Pride has never been a huge struggle for me because I always try to make sure that I stay humble but confident. I cannot stand people who think they are better than others. They will get a rude awakening from me, because I will put them in there place for sure. This was one of my favorites because the background is very satisfying to the eye the lion is very cute. Pride is not the circle of life. This week I added my verses, finished my lion, and added the word Pride. I hot glued out the letters and painted them with gold acrylic paint. Then I got glued all my lion parts together then I put my verses on there which describe how pride is a sickness by which destroys your life.

“Attitude of the human Gorilla” Carlie Fuller Throughout this piece I will be creating the sin of wrath. Wrath is one of the most scariest sins because it can lead anyone out of control. Personally the only time I suffer with wrath is when anyone talks about standardized testing. No one needs to get me on the train wreck rant again. I used the color red to represent wrath because dark and red and bright are very bold bright anger colors by which perfectly describe wrath. Also because red is usually used for violence because of blood. I used a gorilla as the animal to represent wrath because Gorillas are very anger animals by which they want to attack you and hurt you. They are know as one of the most violent animals that exist. Wrath is a terrible sin to fall into because getting out of it would probably have to be anger management because it can be so strong. I can be so strong that it may lead people to hurt others because of all the emotion built up inside ones body leading them to take an violent action. The human race to love rather than get angry at one another. This week I burned the word Wrath, and made somewhat of gorilla body. I burned the letter A of the gorilla to give the word some flow and the A looks like it is in his stomach. I plan the redo the gorilla 🦍 because he should look more fierce and his arms with be fisting his chest. |
