2/22/2019 0 Comments SculptMy social sculpture was about saving the bees. I really appreciate nature, even though bees can be mean. Wasps are the real meanies. Mrs. Whitney gave me this idea, so thanks you !!! I love honey comb and honey so I’m very happy I could make it out of clay and I made a little bee, who is adorable. I would love to paint it but I got to cook it soon. The social problem is saving the bees 🐝, because without them we would have no food and we would die. What a blessing bees are to our environment. I really enjoy sculpting because it is fun to crave out the clay and give the clay texture.

2/22/2019 0 Comments February 22nd, 2019My piece is the sin Lust, which is portrayed through the colors red, pink and deep reddish purples. Lust is such a strong sin that is used a deep red and a skunk to repress it. A skunk because of the lovey dovey Peppie lapew, was in love with everything. The piece represents love and how strong it can negatively and positively. What is the right love. The piece is focused around lust therefore it is based more on the negative side of Love which is lusting. The two verses I used are very strong and talk about lust in a condemning way that makes respect a priority. I made this piece with a base of wood, and mixed red and pink watercolors to blend it the background together. I made blended hearts in the background. Then I carved out a skunk in separate sections to get it exactly right. The. I painted deep red to pop off the background. Lastly I put the bible verses on the background with dark pink sharpies. And finally I put the word list flowing onto the the skunk. I think that my overall project was better than my last one , in that it was more organized and neater. I loved doing this one because the colors were so pretty and the animal is so cute. I learned that I can write my verses a little neater next time but besides that I loved it. 2/15/2019 0 Comments 2nd Final pRojeCtSo far on my 2nd project , the subject being discussed is “Lust” by which I assigned it the color red and the animal a skunk( peppy la pue). I made the back ground faded in watercolor by which the color blend between reds and pinks. Throughout back ground there are faded hearts blended in and the word list is written in maroon Colored letters. The skunk is made out of cardboard, I drew the shape on cardboard then used an exacto knife to cut it out, then I layered the shapes to form the skunk. The skunk has arms the bring to his heart and you can open them to see the heart. I have painted the skunk so far a deep red to pop off the background, but it needs to be wine red. The eyes are big like the stuffed animal beanie boos. And the eyes have hearts in them to describe lust , like in the cartoons. The piece represent the temptations of Lust for anyone boy or girl, and how to control it. Love is a great thing but lust in coveting and hurting someone else in the process. I still have a lot to do, I can’t wait!!!!!
2/15/2019 0 Comments February 15th, 2019So far on our Alma artist influenced project, Davis , Chloe, and I have started to make the ocean. As soon as we started to collect our paper selection, we started to rip the paper to piece , in medium, small and large pieces. We painted on glue and put the pieces of paper from the lowest of the oceans to the sky line outer space. We plan to finish the overall piece by Wednesday and plan to make it look pretty and mogpaoge it at the end to smooth it out. Can’t wait to finish it. Until then
2/7/2019 0 Comments Frank webb![]() Frank Webb was born in 1927 ,Edgewood Pennsylvania , he is still alive today at the age of 92, pretty good. Webb grew up in Pennsylvania by which he went to the Art institute of Pittsburg, he studied fin art, took composition, painting and drawing classes, he also got instructed in commercial application because of his studies. Webb is very important to art history because he has inspired many by teaching art classes and accepting numerous awards for his work. He was very involved with the National Art society and some other programs that promoted art as well. As an self employed artist Webb stopped producing art for a little while and became a student of art underneath Edgar Whitney. Edgar Whitney inspired Webb through design, purpose and execution of visual art. Webb remembers how great his teaching was and how his critiques really helped become a better and more serious watercolor artist. I choose Frank Webb because as if right now my projects for the spring 2019 semester, all have to do with watercolor, which is one media that I have always liked but never really did a project with it. I wanted to see a watercolor artist inspire me, and I picked the right one for sure. Frank Webb is very successful and very involved when it comes to supporting the arts, I greatly appreciate the arts. Frank Webb is a watercolor artist by which his main style is landscapes and certain unique places. Throughout all Webb's paintings, they are all representational/ abstract. Webb presents a landscape in a new way, I can recognize everything within the picture , but it looks it like a blurred version of it with vibrant colors. Frank Webb was inspired by Edgar Whitney because he was his mentor. Edgar Whitney punished Webb to the limits of being a watercolor artist, he pushed him towards different designs and certain landscapes. I'm sure that Webb was also inspired by landscape and watercolor artist too. Frank Webb is very known for the piece "Funchal", which is a vibrant colored piece that shows boats on the shoreline. In the first image, I noticed a little city in Mexico, where some unique culture is located. It looks like a poor town because of the cloths hanging for shade and the open ( no glass) windows. There are stick/ abstract figures that represent people. There are many vibrant colors such as turquoise, baby pink, soft orange, white, purple, royal blue, baby yellow, hot pink, navy blue, dark orange, and black for the outlines. I notice the building that is the main focus of the picture, is old and made out of concrete. The sky is very blue and bright and mountains are in the distance. This watercolor painting gives me so much positivity , and a pleasant feel throughout. It makes me feel really warm and hungry, because of the color tones and I see abstract fruit in the picture. It also gives that feeling because Mexican towns like that are exactly the way I described them, warm. It reminds me of my childhood too because it looks like the town Aladdin grew up in, I watched it everyday. The watercolor strokes throughout the painting are very think or very tiny depending on what is being drawn. The brushes used in the painting are really thick brushes for layering colors and tiny brushes for outlines. The second image, I noticed that the piece is depicting boats on a shoreline near a castle near the ocean with a background of mountains. I noticed that the main boat is named Funchal which is the title of the piece, might represent something , but I don't know what. I noticed that there people painting boats. It looks like they came together from different places and came together to paint this bigger boat. The sky is very blue and the light is reflecting in the sky against the blue. I noticed paint cans and ladders that are used for painting the boats. I notice the colors are very vibrant and colorful, there are yellows, blues, oranges, pinks, and purples. The purple is mostly used for the shadows of the boats. This piece makes me feel calm and collected, because, yes there are bright colors, but the way they are used is calm because it is located on the beach. It also makes me feel childlike because the location and structure of the overall piece reminds me of The Little Mermaid. The brushes throughout the painting are medium because most of the colors are blended in very smoothly. The brushstrokes are smaller to a medium size because there is a lot detail within the boats and the castle. In conclusion, Frank Webb is a very important artist because he showed a simple way painting watercolor without making it so complex. He was inspired by other famous watercolor artist which makes him better in experience and exploring the art world. Webb was very involved in different art societies and programs. He has inspired others to create pieces that are vibrant, but have an opposite mood. Frank Webb gives so much positivity throughout all his pieces, by using bright colors, and joyful landscapes. The landscapes he picked are so unique in many different ways, through culture, weather and certain actions of life. Webb has inspired me through watercolor because, I am doing something similar to all my pieces in art 4. I like giving something deep and light hearted feel. I hope that he continues to do art for a very long time, because he is humble and very talented. 2/5/2019 0 Comments First Final projectSo far on my first project I have accomplished the green blurry background, the snake formation and the texture throughout. I have changed my mind on a couple on things: I am not making the snake out of stuffing nor fabric anymore, instead I cut the snake out of cardboard and made the eyes look like a beanie boo. I made the background out of water color, I mixed the colors really well together by which the edges look like acid. The acid like texture represents how sin tears away at people, at least for me it does. The background is filled with all different watercolor greens mixed together with brushes or my fingers. The texture on the piece is finger prints because it represents envy by which everyone fingers are reaching for something they do have, so they are envious. I plan to finish the project this week by added bible verses that declare how envy is a bas sin to fall into and how to overcome it. Each piece should give discipline and hope to get out sinning, if we don't sin s much then we become better people and treat others better. So far I have learned that it is hard to portray such a strong subject because I wonder how to portray it in the perfect way possible, is it the word? Is it the colors? Or just the overall pieces when they come together. I can't wait to find out what comes next. I finally finished up the project by adding unique bible verses that describe envy and what it does to you as a person. I used a green sharpie , for the verses not as obvious because it makes the viewer look for it rather than you obviously seeing bible verses. Then I did the same with the ENVY part. I really liked this project it was fun to explore different creations from my mind. Lust is next , can’t wait for that one!

I represented thoses choices by using the seasons fall and spring. It’s your choice. Because our assignment was inspired by Speegle I made 10 copies of that original drawing. Each of the ten drawings represent the original drawing from a child’s perspective( drawing outside the lines) or just flipping some colors around. I really enjoyed this activity because it was challenging to figure out what to do with each of the copies. I honestly learned that it can get really exhausting
m it comes to thinking of what color and what meaning it should have. I hope we get to do this again because i love how much creativity is involved throughout this activity, it isn’t complex but simple. |
